SNSD Yoona turns 21!! [22 - Korean age]

SNSD’s Yoona turned 22 on May 30th, and fans worldwide are celebrating, congratulating, and wishing the idol a very ‘happy birthday’.

In Korea, SNSD’s fancafés “CISTUS” and “Smile Yoona” have released an ad in a daily newspaper to publicly celebrate Yoona’s birthday.

The ad reads:

“Doe

Because you have similar eyes,

a thin and long neck,

because you are very serene,

very beautiful,

because you give joy and happiness to people who look at you

that is why we call you “doe”.

Those wonderful eyes,

those eyes that are sometimes playful,

and laughter that has no affectation.

Today is your birthday,

In addition to the poem, fanclub members also did some community service hours together, donated a happybean under Yoona’s name and also bought her a star in the constellation.

Yoona Confirmed to Appear in SHINee's Japanese "Replay" MV

Last week, speculation arose that Yoona would appear in the music video for SHINee's first Japanese single, "Replay -君は僕のeverything- (Replay -You're my everything-)". It has now been confirmed that Yoona makes an appearance in the music video, as behind-the-scenes footage aired on Japanese TV along with an extended preview of the music video itself. The full music video is set for release on June 22.

While she is not seen in any of the behind-the-scenes footage, several scenes of Yoona appear in the preview of the music video, as she is shown reading a book while wearing large black-framed glasses. There is also a screencap of Yoona dressed in a more glamorous fashion with a black ribbon in her.

Yoona Recommends Handkerchiefs Instead of Tissues

Girls' Generation's Yoona is currently modeling for natural cosmetics brand Innisfree and is working on a concept called "Yoona's Jeju Handkerchief". This is part of Innisfree's Eco Handkerchief campaign.

Following up last year's activities, this is the second Eco Handkerchief campaign. Yoona admitted her love for Jeju afterwards, "Through this campaign, I unknowingly fell in love with Jeju Island's beauty. It's so clean and beautiful that I felt really proud of my country, especially when looking at other places while performing overseas."

Actions speak louder than words. Regarding the campaign, Yoona commented, "I'll start of this campaign by using handkerchiefs instead of tissues. I hope that everybody can join and participate in this campaign so we can keep our nature clean and beautiful."

Throughout June, Innisfree customers who spend more than 10,000 won will receive Eco handkerchiefs autographed by Yoona.

Innisfree's best products "The Green Tea Seed Serum" and "Green Tea Mineral Mist" will be released as limited special editions along with the Eco handkerchiefs that hold Yoona's kind heart.

The limited edition "The Green Tea Seed Serum" will be available for purchase as a 160 ml bottle, containing double the amount compared to the original 80 ml.

As of June 1, 10% of the sales from the limited edition items will be donated for Jeju Olle Road. Purchasing the items alone would be healthy for the customers' skin and will also help clearing up the earth's surface by decreasing the amount of trash.
