The American entertainment news program “E! News” on the E! cable network channel aired brief footage of Girls’ Generation’s music video “The Boys”.

In a segment on October 27th, the host of the show was going through the rankings of the most popular music videos this week on Youtube. Girls’ Generation came in 3rd place, beating out superstars like Adele and Rihanna.

Girls’ Generation is already starting to pick up in the mainstream in the United States with the explosive popularity of “The Boys” on Youtube.

YoonA’s dress auctioned off for a whooping 20.3 million Won!

It has been revealed that at the “Beautiful Auction” event held by Woongjin Coway featuring Girls’ Generation, Yoona’s one-piece dress was auctioned off for 2,030,000 won and a total of 14,000,000 won was raised in donations.

Girls’ Generation is currently the model for Woongjin Coway’s self-sterilizing purifier. At this event, the props used by Girls’ Generation for the Woongjin ads were auctioned off in order to raise funds for women who are head of their households and alienated by society.

Since September 28th, props used by each member of Girls Generation were bid off every week through the online auction at www.cowaygirls.com. Around 5,800 bidders participated in this auction event.

The item that was sold at the highest price, 2,030,000 won, was the white dress that Yoona wore in the launching commercial for “Coway, Please Take Care of Mom”. Next were the self-sterilizing purifier (CHP-270L) signed by all 9 members which was sold for 1,710,000 won, and Yoona’s white T-shirt and denim shirt at 900,000 won and 790,000 won respectively.

Last March, Woongjin Coway signed a contract with Girls’ Generation to be the models for the purifiers during the year of 2011, and also launched the “Coway, Please Take Care of Mom” campaign.

When all of the donations are fully deposited, Woongjin Coway plans to select a support group and deliver all proceeds in order to help women head-of-households in need.

SNSD’s YoonA chosen as the most intelligent female idol

SNSD‘s YoonA was chosen as the most intelligent female idol through a survey conducted by a clinic located in Seoul Gangnam’s Seochowon.

A total of 273 people were asked to name the female idol they thought was most intelligent, and 148 (54.2%) of these people named SNSD’s YoonA. Following behind YoonA was KARA‘s Goo Hara with 23.4% of the votes, while After School‘s Kahi came in third with 18.3% of the overall vote.

The clinic explained, “The participants felt that girl group members who actively sing, act, and make numerous variety show appearance must be the most talented and intelligent. It takes a lot of brainpower to be able to do all three with finesse, and they most likely grew progressively smarter over time, as the human brain further develops the more you utilize it.”

Meanwhile, SNSD recently made their comeback with title track, “The Boys“, which achieved an all-kill shortly after its release.

SNSD’s YoonA voted as the #1 stars netizens want to hold hands with

Actor Won Bin and SNSD‘s YoonA were crowned as the #1 celebrities that people would to go on an autumn walk with while holding hands.

Personal and household care products company, CJLION, polled netizens on their homepage on who would be their ideal autumn date. 12,000 people participated in the survey, and declared that Won Bin and YoonA were the top male and female dates.

With his dashing good looks, Won Bin obtained 12% of 1,402 votes – placing 1st for the male celebrities. Following close behind was Lee Seung Gi with 11% (1,360 votes), and So Ji Sup with 8% (908 votes).

For the females, YoonA clinched 1st place by a large margin with 26% (3,161 votes). Kim Tae Heefollowed with 7% (842 votes), and IU received 5% (546 votes).
